Long-Pronged is the Best Things?

None of the evidence to proved that the long prong must be better than shorten length. Actually, the best prong length should be measured from material thickness.

For example, if it is a thin layer fabric. Using the long prong may cause the defects. When a prong insert into socket or duo stud's groove, it is unable to bend properly. The results are both components' surfaces appears 5 dots protuded. It's because the prong length too long as caused.

However, we can use the below example to find the optimum prong length. After a ring prong pierce into fabric, it allows about 40% against of the total length (X) to remain its surface. In this range, you may decide to use a short or long prong accordingly.
